Terms of Use

The short version: use the app to learn, pay only through Apple, cancel whenever you like, and know that it is a study aid, not a scholar.

Effective September 7, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Syed Haider (“we”, “us”), the developer of Quran Tutor (“the app”). By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accept them for you.

The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”) applies to it. These terms add to the Standard EULA; where the two conflict, the Standard EULA wins.

1. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, under the usage rules in Apple's Media Services Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or extract its audio, text, fonts or course content for use outside it.

2. What the app is, and is not

The app teaches the Arabic script, plays recitation with the words highlighted, shows the Quran with translations, and helps you build a daily habit. It is a study aid. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it does not judge or certify your recitation: when you record yourself, the app plays your voice back beside the teacher's so that you can compare them. It does not analyse your pronunciation and makes no claim about its correctness.

Prayer times and the qibla direction are calculated from your device's location and standard astronomical methods. They are offered as a convenience; confirm them with your local mosque where accuracy matters.

3. Free use and Premium

The app can be used without paying. Without Premium you can read the whole Quran with the built-in English translation, listen to one reciter, see prayer times and the qibla, and make story videos. Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the Qaida course and its reviews, every reciter, and every downloadable translation. It is offered after onboarding, whenever you open something that is part of Premium, and always in Settings → Premium. Exactly what Premium includes in the version you have, and its price in your currency, is shown on the purchase screen before you buy. We may change what is free and what is Premium in future versions, but never in a way that takes away what you have already paid for during a paid period.

4. Subscriptions

  • Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, currently weekly or yearly. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. We never see or store your payment details.
  • A subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before it begins.
  • If a plan comes with a free trial, you can cancel during the trial and pay nothing. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
  • Cancel or change any time in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the paid period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.
  • If we change the price of a subscription, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree before the new price applies.
  • Restore purchases in Settings → Premium if Premium does not show on a new device signed in with the same Apple ID.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app in any way that breaks the law or these terms;
  • interfere with the app's servers, or access them other than through the app;
  • send abusive, unlawful or deceptive messages through the “Talk to us” box;
  • use the app's content — recitations, text, translations, fonts, artwork — outside the app, except the story videos the app makes for you to share.

6. Content and its sources

The Quran text, translations, recitations and fonts in the app come from their respective publishers and are used under their licences; their attributions are listed inside the app. We have taken care in preparing the app, but if you find an error in any text, translation or timing, please tell us through the app or at hello@syedhaider.dev so it can be corrected.

Story videos you make with the app are yours to share. The recitation, translation and artwork within them remain the property of their owners and are licensed for personal, non-commercial sharing.

7. Messages you send us

When you write to us through the app or by email, you allow us to keep and use what you wrote to reply to you, fix problems and improve the app. We do not publish messages. How they are stored and for how long is in the privacy policy.

8. Ownership

The app, its design, code, course and artwork are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these terms gives you any right in them beyond the licence in section 1.

9. Changes to the app and to these terms

We update the app regularly and may add, change or remove features. We may also change these terms; when we do, we will update the effective date above, and for material changes the app will tell you. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

10. Ending the agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting the app and cancelling any subscription as in section 4. We may end it if you break these terms. Sections 6 to 13 survive.

11. No warranty

The app is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. Where the law gives you rights that cannot be excluded, nothing here limits them. Under the Standard EULA, if the app fails to conform to a warranty you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you for anything arising from it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.

13. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its content, for maintenance or support, for any product-liability, intellectual-property or legal-compliance claim about it, or for addressing any claim you may have. Those are our responsibility. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or designated a “terrorist supporting” country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute goes to the courts of Dubai — unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it at home, in which case it does.
